Least Favorite Character

In The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, who is your least favorite character? I mean, not someone who you just don't like, but someone that drives you absolutely crazy, that you can't stand!!!!!!
(Hint: The answer cannot be Mr. Herman)

Please leave a comment and your name because I may not be able to tell who your screen name is. Thanks, and have a great day!!!!!

What if?

If Junior hadn't gone to Reardan, would Junior and Rowdy still be friends?

If Junior hadn't punched Roger in the face, would he have more friends at Reardan, or less friends?

What are your thoughts on these questions?

Author Summary

Sherman Alexie, a Professional Basketball fanatic, currently resided in Spokane, Washington. Due to the relocation of the Seattle Supersonics, a pro basketball team, Alexie has become an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball fan.

So what does this all mean? Why is this important? I have finally answered the question in which why Sherman Alexie's books are all about the Great Northwest and Indians. Personally, I think that it would be interesting to write books about your state and where you live.

If anyone would like to comment on the above statements, please do. I have noticed a decrease in visitations to my blog, and I would like to get that number back up. Please comment!!!!!

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian Book Cover

This is the front cover of The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie.
Do you like this cover? Why or why not?

Sequel?

Do you think that there should be a sequel to this book? If so, do you think that there will be new characters introduced, or will they just stick with the same characters?

In my opinion, I do not think that there should be a sequel. Even though the first book was a tremendous success, they basically summed up the story and answered all of the so what questions.

Other Books by Sherman Alexie

  • The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven
  • Reservation Blues
  • Indian Killer
  • Ten Little Indians
  • War Dances

Listed above are some of Sherman Alexie's many works of literature. As you may or may not have noticed, all of his novels have something to do with Indians or Reservations. Even The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian was about Indians and growing up on a rez. I find it odd and unique that all of his major and bestselling novels have something to do with Indians.

As a reader of this post, did you notice that his books were about Indians? Also, do you think that it is strange about his book titles? Why or why not?

White to Indian Comparison

Since Junior goes to a white school in Reardan, everyone on the rez calls him an apple. "Red on the outside, white on the inside". If I was an Indian who lived on a rez, I would be very offended by this comment, because it insults the color tone of my skin.

If you were an Indian, would you be offended by this comment? If so, why? If you aren't offended, why not?
